We hear this question all the time from potential home sellers: What is the best day to list my home? There are countless studies on this particular question that go back decades with pretty consistent results. The best day to list your home for sale is on a Thursday.

Part of it has to do with the ebb and flow of our lives. Many people work Monday through Friday, and many use Thursday evening to find homes to look at in person over the weekend. If you list right before the weekend, you’ll be seen by more buyers before they start looking for the weekend.

“If you list right before the weekend, you can capture many more buyers.”

Conversely, the worst day to list your home is Sunday, followed by Saturday and Monday. This is because the weekend has already been solidified and leads to fewer showings.

When our sellers list on Thursday, they typically see great activity on the first weekend and tend to see a higher return on their list-to-sale price ratio with fewer days on market. Our team’s average days on market is just four right now. That’s less than ¼ of the local average.
